Here are 4 sets of jobs people do for children to name, discuss, label and / or write about. Links with Literacy, World of Work, People who Help us and a range of other topics.

This is a great way to introduce or stimulate your children to write creative stories. Lesson 1 The lesson starts with a story planner - who, when, what, where, how, beginning, middle and end. Then there are dice and matching story cards to cut and use for; 6 story characters 6 ideas for what 6 places for where 6 ideas / times for when and 6 ideas for how Children can play the game in groups and when they have collected a card from each section they can begin to plan/make notes about their story using the final page grid. Lesson 2 should then be about sharing, discussing their ideas and beginning to write their creative stories.

Here is an idea for a Mother’s Day Card for your children. The colour versions could form the front of the card or you could use any of the 6 templates for the children to colour, collage or paint. Great for EYFS or KS1.

A KS1 resource linked to shopping and money up to £50.00 The first page shows a range of things for sale at the garden centre with prices. Page 2 shows a shopping list for each member of the family - mum, dad and Jenny. Children write down the cost of each item. Then they add the cost of each list together to get the total money spent at the garden centre. Page 3 is a template for you to use however you want. Page 4 - each member of the family has £20 to spend. Children write down what each member buys - they have to buy things that are different to their family members. Link with literacy and the children could write about their trip to the garden centre.

A Christmas activity where the children fill in the missing letters on the trees to complete the Christmas words. There are 4 trees with missing letters and 2 trees for children to draw in or write their own Christmas words in. The final page is a word bank for those children that need assistance with spelling /phonics.

A phonics and spelling word activity with a Christmas theme. There are 22 different word wheels with an activity grid to fill in next to each one. Children use the letters in the word wheels to find Christmas words matching the 4 pictures. They then write down the words they have found. There is a complete set of answer cards included and a word bank where children could highlight the words they have found. There is also a template sheet included with a colour wheel and a black and white wheel for you or the children to use / extend the activity.
